Year Six pupils became the ‘Human Fruit Machine’ at the Summer Fair. We also sold bunches of lavender and offered adults the opportunity to experience The Massage Chair – promoting health and wellbeing!
As part of Health Week, Year Six have been learning about the sugar content of popular food and drink choices. They were certainly shocked at the amount of sugar they were consuming! The Food Smart App also provided some great healthy food swaps.
A huge well done to the talented and brave year six pupils and all the other acts who took part in the showcase.
Well done to these year six children who have made excellent progress in their reading, and received a free book from the book fair!
The day has finally arrived! All our hard work learning the songs has hopefully paid off! As a school we recorded the songs onto a cd, which will be available to buy tonight at the concert. Please come along to show your support!
Year Six have been learning about Jackson Pollock as part of Arts Week. We have had a look at some of his earlier and more recent artwork. Today, we had a go at creating pieces of Art in the style of Jackson Pollock. We added drops of watery paint to our paper and blew onto it through straws (rather than throw paint all around the classroom!). What do you think?
As part of Arts Week, the children took part in a drama workshop. It was a good way for children to learn to express their thoughts and feelings about things, before writing them down. A big thank you to Ian and Ruth from LIPA for delivering this workshop for us.
Pupils are very lucky this week to have ‘Rock Kidz’ at school, teaching them how to be rock stars! The children will be learning four original songs, all of which contain very important message.
